Kayl is originally from Taos Pueblo. He is part of the Taos Pueblo Tribe, the San Carlos Apache Tribe, and the Northern Fort Duchesne Ute Tribe. Currently in his first year at New Mexico Highlands University working on a B.S. in Forestry, Kayl completed an Associates in Pre-Science at UNM-Taos. He is grateful for the opportunity to be part of  the CCC-LIFT Program.
